Attention X9303 2.4 owners
Tuesday, August 19, 2008 The JR Service Center has discovered that many of the X9303 2.4 transmitters have an issue in that the wires attached to the aileron potentiometer can come into contact with the voltage regulator that is mounted in the back of the transmitter. With repeated use it is possible that the insulation can wear through exposing the wire at the point that it contacts the regulator. It is recommended that the aileron potentiometer wires be rerouted per the following instructions and photographs. This notice does not affect XP9303 72 MHz transmitters.

Heads Up, Use the right batteries in your JR transmitter for best results
Monday, March 17, 2008
Warning concerning use of non-standard transmitter batteries
JR transmitters are designed to be operated on 9.6 volt Ni-cad or NiMh batteries only. Use of Li-Po or other power devices operating at higher voltage can add heat to the system, possibly overloading the power regulating transistor for reduced output. Despite what aftermarket battery manufacturers might suggest, use of non-standard batteries offers decreased reliability of your JR radio. Our service department has received failures associated with Li-Po packs.
NiMh cells, like the JRPB5011 2500 Sanyo pack or the soon-to-be released JRPB5014 2000mAh pack for the 10X and 12X. Charge these packs with the JRPC223 9.6 volt 270mAh output charger.

QuickConnect Voltage Recovery System for DSM2 Air receivers
Wednesday, February 27, 2008
Performance modelers have known for some time that care must be taken to assure adequate power supplies for their airborne system. JR's 2.4 GHz systems are designed with an operating threshold of 3.5 volts, and lower voltages cause the system to shut down. When adequate power is regained (usually the drop is momentary), earlier JR systems re-boot and rescan for two previous channels before control is restored – a process usually requiring two to five seconds. The new QuickConnect feature, however, eliminates the scanning delay and restores control almost instantly. Click the link below to learn more.

New Guidelines for DS821 Servo Use
Tuesday, February 20, 2007
The DS821 servo is a powerful, accurate sport digital servo recommended for RC airplane applications up to 1.20-size. For helicopters, the DS821 operates best with 30-size glow models, and up to 50-size electric. Loads and vibration in larger models may cause premature failure of the servo resulting in damage or injury to property and persons.
Important: Do not use liquid thread lock with the DS821 servo!
Do not use any form of liquid thread lock to secure the servo arm screw to the output shaft of the DS821 servo. Chemicals in these liquids react with the polycarbonate gear set causing the plastic to become brittle, fracturing the final output gear.

8611A, 9000T/S Service Bulletin
Tuesday, November 07, 2006
Horizon Hobby and JR take your modeling satisfaction very seriously. Although there are thousands of JR 8611A, 9000T, and 9000S servos on the market being used with great success, we are concerned that a number of these servos sold between May 1, 2006 and August 31, 2006 have faulty motors. While performance of these servos is not impaired under normal use, under extreme loads and heat the motor may fail.

Mike was able to get the holeshot on the start of the A-Main and led wire-to-wire en route to the win. Mike’s transmitter of choice: A JR Z-1, of course.
